Sarah Campbell, a native of New Zealand is an innovative photographer with a discerning eye for photographic elegance, form, harmony and structure. Her ability to capture mood while creating a visual symphony is second to none and is what sets her apart from others in her field, making her a much sought after photographic artist.
Sarah's creative disciplines are wide ranging yet all meld together to give her that cutting edge.
Hailing from a family rich in natural artistic talent Sarah is the seventh child, of ten, and no exception to the rule. Born of parents who actively encouraged the nurturing of talents and skill development the family's accomplishments and skill base has become diverse from one of the worlds top sound engineers for film and television to opera singers, visual artists, authors, composers, designers and the list goes on.
Being raised in this environment Sarah developed a passion to create from a very young age. She eagerly embraced new skills and gained a solid reputation in more then one field of expertise.
At the age of seven Sarah wrote, produced and directed school plays. Her passion for the fashion, beauty and theatrical industries as well as mixed media was ignited during these early days. Fashion came to the fore when at ten she worked along side her mother Ellen who owned a sports fashion label. Allowed the freedom to create Sarah showed an unusual talent for design with the ability to visualize then create the garment to completion. Her ability to create cutting edge designs became her focus and forte.
In 1987 at the age of thirteen Sarah Campbell was given her first camera, photography became a hobbie, and it remained such until 2000 when the intense urge to create art through the lens happened while working as head makeup artist on the set of a high fashion shoot, she expressed this interest to Photographer Lee Donnell, who promptly passed her his camera and said "Do it".
"I was captivated by the camera from that moment" she said "everything came alive for me. The scene as a whole. Artistically all of my passions amalgamated and I could express the whole of me, and allow others to capture the essence of what my mind visualized."
Since that day Sarah Campbells photographic work has been widely sought after all over the world, and has appeared in various high profile magazines including the likes of FHM and Ralph Magazines, using talent that she has found, coached and promoted.
